Small but

Mighty...

Overhauls around the home can be daunting: focus instead on one room or function you'd like to shake up and go from there.

There are so many things - small and big - that can be cleverly updated & refreshed via a bit of DIY. It’s often more simple than you’d think to breathe a whole new life into existing pieces. If you're planning a big change in the home, start by laying out favourite swatches, paint colours and hardware and go from there...

To find your favourite combinations, build in bold and colourful tones to neutral bases; warm tones always work well together and the same goes for cooler blues and greens.

Pink is always a good idea and works well at subtly uplifting a room; why not incorporate warmer tones and brass finishes in for a smart look. Here, our Khaki Knobs are layered over brass Star Backplates.

You can be really playful if you're working with a more neutral canvas. Bring in a pop of colour with our new Pale Blue Knobs and Clover Backplates onto our milk white bathroom cabinet.

There's no need to be afraid of adding statement paint colours into a space, they can brighten a room considerably and make a real difference. Our Bamboo Handles in Natural Oak complement perfectly with this paint colour.

Spotlight

on a project

When approaching a neutral space, small details like hardware and textiles can make all the difference. We love the pared-back combination of wooden storage and nickel hardware on this built-in bed, nestled under the eaves in an attic room. Two pull out drawers sit underneath the bed; a favourite storage hack for when you're short on wardrobe space. The Nickel Star Backplate is layered underneath a matching 23mm Knob, instantly elevating the neutral wooden surface.

Our large size Star Backplates come as a pair but can happily be styled separately, too. Mix the large and small stars within a space, with matching knobs for a seamless look.
